March already! Unbelievable. Is it just me or do the months and years go by faster and faster. London is getting busy. January and February are usually modest months for visitors to the capital but 07 has been stronger than last year which is a good sign for another year in tourism. I am pleased to say that Hotels.tv is developing well and has been launched as the first online TV or WEBTV channel dedicated to hotels. This has been a dream of mine for many years now.

I have been continuously refining the concept of Hotels.tv, very much based on the experiences of Hotels-London. Video was always something which I wanted to introduce, however we have had to wait until Broadband had a good global coverage. Now we are producing our own video content in order to ensure what you see is what you get.

On Hotels-London we have introduced confirmations by SMS text messaging. This means when completing the reservations form you can select to receive your confirmation straight to your mobile phone. So, when you forget to take your printed confirmation, you can look at your phone and have the address and tel number of the hotel. Give it a go and see for yourself - I'd love your feedback

Also, the Corporate department handling groups, meetings and events is really busy booking for the year ahead. The corporate market in London is growing dramatically, partially due to London being the world's choice for listing companies on the stockmarket - ahead of New York! London has also become the centre of fashion, media and music globally. In November we assisted the organisers of the World Music Awards to accommodate Beyonce, Nelly Furtado, Michael Jackson, Bob Sinclair and Gwen Stefani (not to name drop too much!). This was a great experience for our team as it combined the worlds of Hotels and PR. Fortunately and unfortunately I was videoing the Hackett Beaujolais Run during this time.
